This incident is not an isolated occurrence. In recent years, Thailand has witnessed a disturbing trend of youth related gun violence.
Another 14 year old boy was accused of opening fire at a major Bangkok shopping mall in 2023, while the following year saw a 17 year old student steal a police gun and open fire on his classmates in southern Thailand, leaving one person dead and two injured.
